Well, I believe he argues that you should at least think about it. I mean sure, you're kin are going to be pissed off no matter how you die, but what would make them feel worse - having you die as an old man with many life experiences behind you or as a young man, the victim of a preventable (or at least treatable) accident?

Not to get off on a tangent here, but about 15 years ago I covered the overnight news shift as a freelance camera person in Washington D.C. I saw enough traffic fatalities from folks who didn't wear a motorcycle helmet or failed to buckle their seat belts to last me a life time. We're talking really stupid "waste of life" risk taking here, not the "I'm-going-to-risk-it-all-for-the-experience-of-lifetime" variety.

There's a difference, and I just feel that some of the dive practices SeaSerpent listed are in "waste of life" catageory.
