there are a few trips to Talcott Shoals northwest of Santa Rosa Island in January and Late December. Those places are far enough away and the conditions are sufficiently nasty that they tend to produce late in the season. The very last weekend of the season we are heading to the backside of Catalina on the Great Escape for a couple of days. Get ahold of Art Aldrich at www.WetConnection.com on that one.
you can get ahold of Cap'n Eric on the PEace at www.peaceboat.com oh, and yes, keep that beam out of their eyes, they don't like it and it usually causes them to flee before you can make a decent lunge and grab. The weather will be kinda nasty in Jan/Feb so where you go will be dictated by the wind & sea and the size of the boat.
