Hi Mike.
Hey, thanks for sharing the info on lobster diving in Southern California. Being a new bug diver, and not a very good one at that - but wanting to give it a 2nd chance, it's really nice to have other divers to turn to for answers and help. If I were to make a 2nd attempt in January, would you suggest that I try local (e.g. Palos Verdes - Malaga Cove, Malibu, Redondo Breakwater,
etc.) or go for Santa Barbara island or Catalina? And if I were to go back to Catalina, would you recommend doing the West End (e.g. Johnson's Rock, Arrow Point, Black Rock, etc.), somewhere in the middle (e.g. Starlight, Pirate's Cove, Memory Peak, etc.), or somewhere else? Any
thoughts? And, in your experience, it really makes a huge difference - whether it's a new moon as opposed to a full moon, huh? What about shining your light, and spotting bugs? Someone said that you shouldn't beam them directly, but rather keep the bug on the "edge" of the beam to distract them - is there any truth to that?

Thanks again.

- Mark
