As John Walker pointed out for S&R missions yes, but. Did you ever see that IMAX movie "The Living Sea" I think that what it was called with scenes of life in the Kelp Forest. The camera moving very very slowly and stopping when interesting things were happening. This is why I dive the oceans are magnificent just the way they are and to have scooters shooting through these areas would have screwed up that movie. I concerns me that these scooters may also cause harm and disruptions to the ecosystem. I also dive for exercise to help fight the battle of the bulge and swimming during scuba is a good workout. Air conservations isn't that much of an issue when you can surface get a boat fill and go back down. Maybe you should work on lowering your SAC rate. VBG
