what was the size of that jelly? Diameter of the bell, length of the tentacles?
I almost bumped into one about double head size at Redondo canyon at night. I was navigating, watching the compass, while my buddy looked out and just in time pulled my arm before I would have headed right into the jelly. Seeing it appear out of nowhere was scary at the first moment but it was a very pretty sight. I may have died of heart attack, had I hit it unseen ;-) It was quite some mass to hit.
