OMS is not bad per se, just some of their products are considered so. A harness that needs a chest strap is considered suboptimal (some good reasons given in the earlier thread), the OMS bungied wings are considered potentionally dangerous in that the bungees prevent inflation of a punctured bladder and in that the bungee straps are a snag hazard. An unbungied OMS wing is just fine (as long as it is not too big) and a crotch strap harness without a chest strap is cool, even in NorCal ;-)
