Yep, those glass-bottom boats in Lovers Cove are something else. On a positive (? but environmentally insensitive) note, the boats discharge so much fish food that you practically get mugged by calicos and garibaldis cruising for handouts. Black seabass would be worth the visit, though.

My son doesn't like snorkeling from the shore at Lovers Cove because the rocks they dumped to make the beach are hard to walk on. Casino Point is a fine place for snorkeling, if you can maneuver around the OW students fiddling with their gear on the stairs (but the beachless open ocean also makes it slightly more intimidating for younger kids). I was thinking of trying some snorkeling in the n.w. end of Descanso Bay when we're over there in a couple of weeks.
