If it turns out Shugers death is medicaly related and is not a direct cause of scuba why should it go down as a diving accident??? and even if he had a buddy this might not even have saved him. The question is why imply that a buddy is a cure all???. If it is to prevent the novice and unwarey from entering the water, it is only a quick scare tactic to them. If it is to prevent the trained diver that has been soloing a long time, it will never happen. So why tell people not to go in alone. Yes in a OOA situation and no redundant air source at depth it may be wise. How many times do we hear that compared to someone found floating face up, and it usually turns out it was just there time to go anyway. Well just two hard questions and a comentary.
