I never could figure how Kevin could remember so many names. He was great at it. But you hit the nail onthe head in your earlier post. The DM must take charge at the dive site and make it a good day for all. Briefings, assistance, guidence, etc. I like seeing someone suited up (at least partially) ready to assist anyone in trouble. But the number one thing is helping the divers to have a good time.

I have been on boats with grumpy DMs and they cast a pall over the divers. I have been on boats where I felt welcome and the newbies were happy to ask questions. I have seen DMs who talked down to the newbies and that really scares me since it prevents them from asking questions. My favorite crew was some of the old Liberty crews. You, Kevin, Chiara, and uh, oh heck I can't remember the other lady DM's name (I will probably remember it as soon as I post this). Safe efficient, happy to help etc.

Wayne
