Its kinda hard to explain without getting all technical. Basically, everytime he went up to get a student he turned off his air. Well, a rebreather is different than a regular open-circut: on an open-circut, once the valve is turned off, the air is off. On a rebreather, air gets recycled, as it does that it becomes more and more poisonous. Hope I explained well...
