Bouyancy skills are not necessarily part of a nitrox class, there are specialty courses dedicated specifically to this skill. Nitrox class' are dedicated to nitrox, covering things like mathimatical formulas, table and computer use, equipment considerations, how its produced, obtaining fills, analyzing gas, and yes, emergency procedures.
Whether or not dives are conducted in this course is debatable, how do you teach someone to breathe nitrox? IMHO, teaching good dive planning in regards to nitrox use is much more important. I like to see students do dives just to check their dive planning skills.Making certain they understand MOD for gas being used and tracking oxygen exposure are biggies.
A good nitrox course is heavy on classroom work, there is a lot of new info to learn. Diving nitrox recreationally is pretty simple when combined with proper dive planning.
