What, you just trying to point out what an anomaly mine was? Yes, I got my mask -- and snorkel -- knocked right out into the great beyond in an LA County ADP surf exit, maybe Point Dume? Can't remember the location. 1998? The factors I recall most contributing were: (1) inexperience with surf exits, as timing the sets would have reduced the chance of a spectacular whitewater egression, and (2) an extremely high - volume mask with big square edges and lots of surface area to catch the force of the water. I could have worn my current mask under the thing.

As a side note, having a couple hundred dives more experience, the majority of them beach, I am now firmly in the regulator-exit school.

Debate at will.

No student, nor any buddy, has ever knocked off my mask. Of course, my main buddy knows I would knock his block off.

BTW Congratulations.
