big ship propwash in shallow areas (this was proven at the shores of Cozumel). While anchors of course DO damage ecosystems locally they are not the biggest threat to any system. It ain't so much the anchor but rather what follows the anchor down that does more damage. I would like to add that included in anchor damage is the chain sweeping across seafloor that wreaks the most havok. Smaller boats (private craft) have far less effect (obviously) that cattle boats. I think regulation needs to be geared towards business operations larger than say "Six-Pack" boats
