I have had a similiar experience....however not as fortunate as yourself.. I dove down on about 6 lobsters in the same ring so I went after the one that appeared to be the largest and missed....however the others did not leave so i went after the 2 largest and missed once more....on my third attempt at the #3 lobster I got a good grab and bagged him however he was just a legal and appeared to be much smaller than the other 2....the remaining ones took off to some nearby eel grass........If i only had been a trapper and dropped a trap there i would have ended up with all 6.
