During a long surface swim the other night, my buddy got smacked--and hard--on the side of the head on the swim back in. We were over the reef at Boat Canyon in Laguna, and both of us were "heads down" snorkelling over the reef (looking for stray bugs), so we didn't see what hit him. Our only guess was that a near-sighted seabird had swooped down on him...anyway, he needed to change his shorts after the dive.
