I was wondering how much lobster is in the Sea Otters diet because it seems they could be very effective hunters crawling into those tighty hiding places. The Friends of Sea Otters claim they don't really know what the impact is. What's your view about that? The Friends also complain that kelp harvesting is disrupting the otter.
Did you read the Region section of LA Times yesterday? There are animal activists that, believe it or not, travel to the Channel Islands to feed vitamin K as an antidote to rats that the Park Service Rangers are trying to eradicate with poison. The rats are eating the eggs of the Xantus's murrelet and are a pest that need to go but some flake is calling this " like ethnic cleansing; it's a jihad against nonnative species." Almost unbelievable.
