I'm not connected with the event in any way other than a contributor so this is my personal view on why Chamber Day is in middle of the week. Wednesday is probably the least painful (financial speaking) day for the boat owners, Captains, Aquarium and instructors/divemasters to set in order to donate their time and facility for a good cause. The weekend before and after are times they would like to remain open in order to book paying clients. YMMV
