Mr. Bill you should review your history. The French helpped us in our War of Independance out of there own self-interest. The French Government did not give us the Statue of Liberty (they were against it).
Many American's were killed WW1 and WW2 kicking the German's out of France (and millons of tax payers dollars were used to help rebuild France). And lets not forget about the thousands of my generation that were killed in Vietnam(because of the French).
I think that a good case can be made, that it is the France that got us into the war that we are in right now.
So keep on drinking your French wine and using French dive equipment (in fact drowned yourself in it).
