I remember diving off the Cypress Point when Phil Sammet had it and we went right to the same spot that we were at Saturday. There was no dropping divers or swimming out or permits or any other such nonsense.
Like I said we had the whole place to ourselves and no one would have been able to get to us from shore to tell us to leave even if they wanted to.
I knew about the shore diving rules but was unaware of the boat diving rules even if you come in from open ocean. I know a lot of people who dive there and never heard of that rule. Now I know. Please forgive me.
I think in all honesty I will probably leave Monterey and all the rules and crowds behind (been there done that) and just enjoy the diving up here -- all the more now.
