I was camping and hiking at Little Harbors this weekend and saw three dead seals on the beach (2 at Little Harbors and 1 at Cat Harbor). I know this is a really gross question, but how long does it take for these poor animals to decompose? Does someone come along and scoop them up? Is it safe to snorkle in the vicinity of the dead animals? It was heart breaking to see these guys, and I can't help but wonder how many more there were along the entire coast of the island.
