They launch a boat and go out about a quarter mile to and undersea wall, if this is the same Mark that I have met there.

He closely supervises his students, and it is his mind that is making all the judgments about waves, surge, vis, etc.

He has been teaching for over 15 years, therefore his students are in good hands at Monastery.

What Melvin said about North & South Monastery being a place not appropriate for new divers is quite valid.

The south end is easier than the north, on most days, but even then, a diver needs to be experienced or under supervision for either of the north or south Monastery beaches.
