I've been on the Encore more then 12 times over the past 4 years and haven't had a bad experience yet. Was on them just last weekend. Our 2-day made it out to Begg Rock for 2 world-class dives(off of San Nic Island) and Santa Barbara Island. All of the captains I've had and the current crew is top rate. I've been on them mostly to San Clemente and they really take you to some great spots. They know where the Giant Black Sea Bass are out there, so there's a good chance to see some. All of their boats though are typically chartered, so you might have to go through a shop or the club that is chartering them. They do fill-up, so make sure you call ahead.
