Encore Dive Boat and SoCal Diving

Hello Everyone-

I am from Cleveland, Ohio and I will be in Long Beach from 8/8 to 8/16. I have heard that diving is good off of San Clemente Island, and I see that the Encore dive boat is going out there on the first night I will be in LB. Has anyone ever dived from the Encore boat? What were your results?

Also, since I will be in Cali for a week, I would like to do a couple other dives. What are the best dives in SoCal?
