I have to agree... kudos to the DM.
This is the same story over and over.... Different diver, different day different conditions, however, it always comes down to; diver panic making bad decisions in need of help. This is a good example of the DM paying attention and helping a diver in need at that critical moment.
We can go over this again and again and the need for more training, diver self rescue and experience. The fact remains; People will get themeless in to situations that will require outside assistance. Even the best make or have made mistakes. Having someone looking over your shoulder, even if it is only for when you screw up, is still comforting.
