I just read about a guy who uses a pony bottle for hunting bugs in shallow water. I've emailed him to get specifics but want to get your opinions as well. Most of my diving is freediving, and at times have found myself diving deeper (~60-70' to free tangled fish) than I really want. Those times I wish I had a tank with me but I don't have the space on my kayak for fish/game and a tank. I also like to look for lobster in the shallow water <20' again freediving. Can I alternately freedive and use the Pony Bottle for those ledges that go waaaaay back?
I need some educating on the use of a Pony Bottle. I know duration underwater will depend on size/capacity of bottle, but can I use a Pony Bottle for a 5 minute trip to 70'?
Where can I learn more about the proper use of these bottles?
