I pondered over this a lot some time ago. It comes down to this. If you are free diving, then you wanted to avoid scuba in the first place. Why are you trying to mix the two do one or the other. If you need a CGC to free an anchor thats another story. To take a 19cf cyl. with a reg, strap it to you and mix breath hold dives with CG dives does not make much sense. Plus the fact if you are not paying close enough attention, there are several things that can go wrong with this idea.
