I prefer this rule than the annual inspection regardless rule. I agree with you about the moving parts and wear. I didn't make it clear in my post. That I own a half dozen dive rigs. Some of them only get used a few times a year. Depending on where I am diving and most often freshwater. While my favorite rig gets used much more often, and in saltwater.

I would like to take all of my rigs in for annual service. May be half at a time. Still looking for a technician in Central California. That has a good reputation.
