Consider this, if an o-ring in your first stage fails due to wear or age at oh, say 130 feet, will you be happy you saved the maintence cost?
This equipment does have moving parts that do wear. So just diving clean water is not justification for not doing maintenance. Mind you this is good gear and will probably forgive you not doing the maintenance for a little while, buy why risk it. Consider the true cost of a failure due to wear or rust - you life.
