The Department receives funding of many types, all with purposes and expectations. The "Becoming an outdoors woman" program was funded with hunting license dollars and was extremely popular. However, with the decline in funding, we recognized that this activity was not on our top ten list and it was dropped.
Our current level of funding will not protect the State's resources and the public has not been willing to put the money up to do the work.
We are looking for handouts. We are also looking forward to making more use of volunteers because there is much that can be accomplished with them.
