Seahunt,

I'm not trying to patronize you here, but please run the numbers on your 6 cu ft of gas at depth, including a 30 fpm ascent, and KNOW how long it will last. Just because it seemed to take a while to suck it down in a dive shop doesn't mean that it'll work that way underwater when you're in trouble (either scared or having to use a lot of muscle to do something).

Everyone - at 30 ft, you are using air 2X as fast as in the dive shop. At 60 ft it's 3X, 90 ft 4X, etc... The second you have to use your pony bottle, the S has hit the fan and you're going to be scared and your consumption is going to at least double.

Please don't let a tiny pony bottle give you too much confidence. It's like feeling much better about getting shot with a .45 because you have a box of band-aids in your pocket. RUN THE NUMBERS if you choose to dive with one of these.

Dive Safe,
Ross-O
