I am happy to sign waivers since I intend to be responsible for my own activities and consequences. If I choose to dive, I assume the risks of that dive. Life has risks. Some lifestyle choices and activities alter those risks. I want to ensure that my family knows that I do not expect a boat owner or divemaster to be the reason I live or die. I also want them to know that I oppose a suit against any of those people or organizations.

Our signing waivers dramatically reduces the cost of our sport and keeps accessible to us. That being said, I do require buddies to sign a waiver to dive with me, and I sign one for them as well.
