Well, I wasn't there either and I can only go by what someone I dive with, who was there has said and what the news interview show.

But, I have to tell you, I was wondering why he did not swim the 400 feet or yards to the boat. Point Dume in Malibu is a 548 yard (by map) swim with current there and against current on the return trip, and yet we dive there.
Now the current may have been too strongs etc. But everhtying I have heard about the diveer is that he made the decision to just wait for the boat to notice he was missing and to come and get him. But they didn't.

I too place part of the blame on the diver. But to count hem both out of the water and then back in at a different site. That is incredible.
