The San Dollar and Bottom Scratcher were originally owned and operated by a dilightful man named Bill Johnson. Bill was one of the original owners of San Diego Diver's supply. He sold his shares in the store and started a boat diving operation. His boats were named after the United States of America's original skin diving club and his club member's nickname. Bill was fondly known as "Sand Dollar" and his club,"The Bottom Scratchers". Bill sold his treasured boats and retired. Until his death he enjoyed his grandchildren and a good game of golf.
