Sunday while diving at the East end (point) of the Rock Quarry, (East of the Isthmus at Catalina), in 115 feet I saw two Lobster traps with 30-40 Lobsters in them. These two traps I believe are tied together, but because of my bottom time limitations I was not able to investigate further. The lines on the traps are tangled in the kelp, and I don’t believe that they can be recovered in their owners usual manor.
1) My understanding is that it is illegal to trap on the mainland side of the Island.
2) I further understand that opening day is Oct 2nd.
