My computer (Suunto Solution Alpha) does the same thing, Elaine, but I've learned to ignore it. At this point, I use my computer just for a general sense of how long (tissue-wise) I've been down and my ascent profiles are entirely driven by what I've absorbed from the slow ascent and deep stop folks. My ascents are strictly limited to 10 ft/min and I do longer stops at 50-ish feet on deeper (rec limits) dives and again at 20 and 10 feet on all dives. Even if I pick up some computer obligation on the slow ascent, my personal ascent profile always ends up more conservative than the computer, even with the added obligation from slow ascents

Three minutes at 15 feet may be good for shallow reef dives, but not for anything more serious.

(My own opinions, not influenced by any actual training.)
