I never recommended routine oxygen for everyone, and you are welcome to your own oppinions. I felt the same way BEFORE I was bent.
Most physicians do not have much knowledge of diving medicine. It is a cold hard fact. Most of them are also not very interested in diving medicine. Finding one who has been trained in hyperbaric medicine is RARE. I work closely within the medical community on a daily basis and am probably much more aware of this than most.
There comes a point where personal responsibility for my own well being comes in to play. I don't ask that you agree with it. There comes a point where divers fall outside the norm, and dealing with it responsibly is the best course of action. If you don't feel comfortable with oxygen - don't use it.
