Best guess from Perry Hampton, Director of Husbandry at AOP, is that it's the skeleton of a leopard shark. This makes sense to me as the "head" was fairly flat, and there appeared to be two eye sockets located towards the top. And the size would certainly make sense as well. Interestingly, we found a second one of these at a different location.

The REAL question is . . . what caused its demise?????
