Our Sheriff's dive team has to go in occasionally to locate stuff. I haven't been in it for about 12 years or so.

Some of our guys located a plane wreck a few years ago and eventually found out by serial numbers off the wreck that it had gone down in a WWII era training accident. It got some coverage in the local papers at the time. If I recall correctly they found documentation that there are about 28 wrecked planes in there.

Disregarding the pollution levels for a moment the salt content alone makes diving somewhat unpleasant and you have to take immediate measures to clean your gear when getting out of the water or plan on rebuilding regs, etc. Visibility is very limited and in general it's NOT a dive I would recommend unless you need to acomplish a specific mission there. I would use at least a drysuit and full face mask for any diving there.
