Marketing a Drifting Dan kit IS brilliant. I am a marketing guy and the hairs on the back of my neck are tingling.
Look at all of the advantages.
Pre Publicity. A catchy alliterative name. Dan Himself can do talks and promotional appearances. Discovery channel will have a "Drifting with Dan" series where Dan interviews previous lost at sea victims like a Nautical Huell Howser.
Recreate the whole event with Scouts and all. For a small fee you too can Drift Like Dan!

Dan can endorse slates and cameras and auto inflate disposable sausages. He could be the Kato Kalin of this decade.
