Karen, been there a few times, and are going back in March. Just like traveling to a place you aren't familiar with, or to a foreign country, take extra precautions. Most of the resorts have safes to put your passport, credit cards, money, etc. in. Keep it in the safe and locked unless you have it on your person. Don't take a lot of cash, they have ATM's and most places take plastic. As Chris said, for more, go to www.bonairetalk.com. It's a wonderful island, and the diving is great (provided Ivan didn't do too much damage).
