Hmmmm...then how is it that I haven't breathed compressed air on a dive for over three years???? And you're correct dive deep on Nitrox and you're going to get hurt...but take a GOOD Nitrox class and you learn not to do that. Personally I don't dive anything over 32% and only that to 100' after that there's other gases that are much better choices. But of course all this requires one to adapt to more modern times... Now about those dive computers...shall we...
