I understand that it was the 3rd dive of the day. She and her dive buddy (husband or finance) did a reverse profile and at about 100 ft. she ran out of air. She panicked, refused her buddy's octopus and bolted for the surface holding her breath. This caused her to embolize and caused the severe lung injury and condition she is in now.
It is very sad that this accident happened and I am sorry for your sister's severe injury. However from what I know, it caused by her inattentiveness and panic, and is the fault of no one else. I know you do not want to believe that, but I’m sure you will find a lawyer who will be happy to sue those who have no blame and increase the cost of diving for us all.
