I was diving at Ship Rock once when two guys in a small boat stopped over me at 70 feet. There was no current and the vis was excellent. I looked up and my bubbles were encircling their boat. They dropped the anchor right in the middle of my bubbles. If I hadn't seen it coming, it would have hit my head. I'm usually a quiet, polite non-confrontational person, but this time I took their anchor and jammed it as tight as I could deep in a crack. I should have offered to retrieved it for them for a "nominal" fee. :-) I decided to just go over to Bird Rock for my next dive.
On another occasion, one of the commercial dive boats out of Avalon pulled into Sea Fan Grotto, dropping their hook within ten feet of my anchor, despite my friend Beth yelling at them that her husband Ross and I were below them.
