How could anyone with a heart not develope a deep affection for such a creature??? i spent 3 nights at Nic two weeks ago and i took a picture of Mr. Splotch, a splendidly distingulished Kelp rockfish with a particular birthmark... i first took his picture back in March '03. i found him within 10 ft of the first time i took his picture... if that doesn't impart a sense of the delicate nature of the these resident creatures, nothing will.... the relationship that some of us have established with the resident species in OUR shared waters are too valuable to allow people to distroy them for food! If it is food you are after, i'd pay a ransom of a thousand cheeseburgers to save any one of my friends!
