This, of course, is the best position to take IMHO. Legal spearfishing is just that... legal. While I may prefer not to be on a boat with other divers who might spear the subject of my video footage (or me!), they have every right to pursue their activities (as long as they show reasonable courtesy towards mine).

Poaching is the illegal activity that needs to be addressed with better enforcement and stiffer punishment to make the point... not the silly slap on the hand given to the repeat offender who killed a BSB in a marine reserve in La Jolla. That should offend all of us divers regardless of what our underwater "focus" is. It gives the legal spearos a bad name by association, one that they do not deserve I might add.
