Since you are a former paramedic you should know that healthy people drowned or near drowned in cold water can most certainly survive 4-6 minutes submerged. Read the literature. In fact a woman survived the exact same scenerio in Monterey a month ago-my friend brought her back. The lack of knowledge by the paramedics as to these factors was most dishearting, especially at the busiest dive site in NorCal. PS I knew Mollie Suh Yaley and she was in excellent health. Certainly the public deserves better than a broken cad system and paramedics on drugs.
