Elaine- Technically I don't think Pete is a pufferfish, but instead a member of the porcupinefish family. Puffers and porcupinefish are related, and there has been some confusion as to their taxonomy, but I think I'm correct in stating that the true puffers are in the family Tetraodontidae and the porcupinefish, balloonfish and others are in the family Diodontidae.
