I'm warmer going dry without a hood and gloves than wet with them... When my core stays warm even loosing a lot of heat through my head/neck isn't that bad. Not that I dive dry without a hood or gloves often, but I've done it. I did a 2hr dive at Jade cove in 48degs wet and was Frozen.
