Thanks to everyone for the replies....I am going to take everyones suggestion and then some. I was also told to call someone on shore and tell them to wait for a call from me or to call me within a pre-determined time to ensure we made it back. If not, they are to call the coast guard. Seems extreme but it you're floating out to sea...a good idea.

Anyone have suggestions on where we could dive to sort of break outselves in???
