My cat chased one into my house a few years ago. he froze and i threw a towel on him and took him out in my back yard and let him go.. they don't get rabies and they have the most teeth of any mammal, i think....

They raid rat nests and they are just plain good neighbors!

Years ago i read an article about them as pets... unlike cats who run from you when frightened, possums run toward their owners when they are frightened.

i had an experience recently with a possum that broke my heart...
